NHS and SMP

Hello,

I have recently found out I am pregnant (6 weeks, due July) and work for the NHS. However, my contract is changing in February for me to work in a different trust but the same job role/pay scale etc. Does anybody know if I will be entitled to SMP or the NHS maternity pay? I am unsure because I will have only had 5.5 ish months with the new NHS trust before going on maternity leave, and unsure whether NHS service counts as continual employment regardless of which trust you are working at. I have been working in my present job since February. Thank you

As long as you ve no more than 4 weeks of unpaid time between trusts it carries over. I moved to a new job and banding at 7 weeks pregnant and got my mat pay as usual
