Maternity advice needed

FTM to be here!

My baby is due early March, I'll be taking my mat leave 2.5 weeks before due date. My annual leave for the year is 25+bank hols.

Now, I have no intention of going back to work after mat leave, but of course want to accrue full holiday and my length of service bonus.

The last girl that tried to return after maternity was made redundant and I'm thinking that will happen to me anyway.

My question is how long to take?

If I take the full 52 weeks, I accrue the full year's holiday (and maybe 4 days of 2021) but as it rolls on to the following year and I don't want them to penalise me, and say they won't pay it. (Currently no annual leave can be carried over, unless expectional circumstances like getting married)

What do you think? Or what should I be asking them, before I hand in my mat b1? What sort of clarification would I need from them in writing before I set anything?

Many thanks in advance. Smile

They should either pay you for it or give you the holiday

Just ask them which it is via an email.
