Fed up of current school and am applying for positions in other schools ( am not a teacher) Have interview date and time, and this would be during normal school day. Working in a school, i just cannot take annual leave. Have never had a sickie either. What do i do for interviews? Prospective school unlikely to rearrange as this is a day for all candidates.

I’m a teacher and it’s usually fine for all school roles to attend an interview.

You ask for time off to attend. That’s perfectly normal.

Just worried as to what impact this will have on other staff perception of me knowing I have gone for an interview. Not sure they realise how unhappy I am there

You just need to ask for the time off for the interview. It’s awkward, I know, but lying about a hosp appt or similar will backfire horribly.
