Hi all, I have recently gone back to work. I wanted a permanent TA position but got offered a temporary one (3 months until January) when I interviewed for a permanent one as they had already filled it and this one was just becoming available.
I took it because although I wanted a permanent job, they said they are very confident it will lead to a permanent job from January as they are just waiting on some funding which they should be getting.
Anyway, I have been given a permanent contract, signed and returned. it quite clearly has a option to select Temporary or Permanent and they have selected Permanent and marked"End date" 'N/A.
I didn't want to raise this as I am pinning hopes on getting the permanent job. Does this mean I have it already? I am aware there isn't much protection within the first 2 years of employment but surely they can't just fire me after a few months if they don't get funding because they gave me the wrong contract? Or can they?
Thanks! Jess
