New job

Hi, some advice needed. Just started new a role but it’s a very flaky team to say the least. One person off sick and lot of back story of being off etc & off might be off for a while. Second person never works a full week one thing or other isn’t reliable...feels like I’ve walked into a total muddle. It’s contract/temp so I’m not tied...any advice??

I sympathise with you and know how annoying this can be! Does their absence affect your workload though? That would be the clincher for me.

It will yes...very soon. Right now am literally just started so I’ve got a bit of leverage but very soon it will impact me...I’m meant to manage them and they are not around... my boss thinks we can cover the work but I didn’t sign up to do the work of others/carry them and learn my role..

Any other advice?? Feel like I’ve been dropped in the proverbial....trying to learn my new role and the team I’m managing are off...it’s hopeless 😩 I need to understand their work to review but they are absent ...
