Just wondering if anyone has experience of moving from teaching to HR or the civil service and might be able to tell me about it? Considering a career change.

I work in HR but not from teaching, are you planning to study your CIPD? It is hard to get into with no experience so definitely do your CIPD and may need to take a paycut as a HR Admin to get into things at first. This wage can very depending on area but it typically low.

HR is very competitive, but I love it and can't imagine doing anything else. It can be hard to find a route in but I suppose you could say that for all kinds of jobs.
If you down the L and D route you may find many parallels with teaching.
