I think you need to know FTE (full time equivalent) number of hours as how do you know if 20 hours per week is 1/2 full time or a bit more than half, or less than 1/2?

If fte is 37.5 then it's 9.64ph.

20hrs 40 weeks of the year = 7710.77.

If they split it into 12 equal payments it's 642.46pcm.

Unable to work out tax and ni but I usually work on 20% deduction so take home would be 642.46 - roughly 130.

So 532.46 ish.

If monthly pay was £643 gross, then assuming tax code of 1250L there would be no Income Tax and no NI and no auto-enrolment pension as don't meet the earnings threshold. Though pension arrangements may be different if this is a local authority job.

Thank you all! Smile

It will be a bit more than that as you would also get 'notional' holiday paid - the equivalent of about 5 weeks' pay. I'm assuming the job is in a school, in which case you should be able to find out this information on the Loval Authority website.
I don't know why schools don't publish actual salary for term time only jobs after pro rata - it would make life a lot simpler!
