Sorry to be a pain but I have a major case of baby brain and I can't for the life of me work out the calculations!

15-20k pro rata
37.5 hours a week
36 weeks a year

Does this mean the 15-20k is it after pro rata or before? What about the 36 weeks a year?!

Sorry again but if someone can help me really quickly I'd be really grateful!

Thank you in advance!

This might help.

Salary Pro Rata usually (ime) is that is the full time salary.

I’m not sure about the weeks though, is it a school job?

Is 37.5 full time hours?

Best to ask them before taking the job. As it's term time you'll need to know holiday entitlement too.

assuming full time 52 weeks is £15k the prorate salary would be £10,384
if £20k then in region of £13k

guess that all depends on experience? in that region you wouldn’t be paying a huge amount of tax - i’m guessing as well that salary would be split over 52 weeks so your monthly income on the lower figure would be £865 rising to £1153 on the higher figure.
i.e you wouldn’t just be paid the 36 weeks you are working but the full 52.

i am however no expert

Alternatively it could mean that the pro rata relates to the payments throughout the year not just the 36 weeks so 15-20,000/12 would be y ur constant salary pm (£1250-£1666) paid throughout the year so not just your working weeks.

(i.e teachers are paid throughout the year inc through school holidays)
