New job and potential serious illness

Just started a new job - literally today.

The problem is I am undergoing a lot of tests at hospital at the moment. I think I might be diagnosed with a serious illness (although I am symptomless).

I am very worried about telling my new employer. All of this has come about literally in the last 2 weeks. Should I fully explain everything and tell them what I may be diagnosed with? Or do I just keep it to a minimum and explain I need time for hospital appointments but not give anything further?

I'm mortified. I have been lucky to have always had a clean bill of health until now. I am concerned they will regret employing me.

Any advice on how I could approach this with my manager would be very much appreciated.

Do you need to ask for time off for appointments?

Personally I wouldn't tell them what you MIGHT be diagnosed with.
