To be raging at missing this opportunity?

I applied for a really great job at a school on September 4th- deadline was the 6th. Applications didn't go directly to the school, but to the local authority.
I didn't receive any confirmation of receipt so thought maybe I'll wait until shortlisting to see if I get a response.
However, looking through my emails last night- there's an email deep in my spam saying that it's the wrong email address, so hasn't been delivered! I've checked the vacancy online, and it's the right email provided- the LA have obviously given the wrong information.
Now the deadline is way gone, and I've missed out on this amazing opportunity for a job that I'm a specialist in- there's only 26 people in the UK with my degree apparently, so combined with my experience and passion, I truly believe I had such a good prospect of getting this! I feel like I'm destined for my current bar job, foreverAngryAngryAngry

I’d send my application directly to the school and explain the situation. It can’t hurt.

If you got it wrong so did others

I agree be proactive ring the school and ask if you can send on your cv
