I've been a stay at home mum for five years and I'm searching for a part time job. Anyone else in the same position and want to share tips/support?

I've joined linked in and signed up for job site emails so far.

Library work or something numerical/analytical. Feeling a bit sad about this stage in my life ending so my give myself time to adjust as well.

What did you do before Children Cherrypi?

annoyingelf · 08/09/2019 11:48

Oh I'm thinking about it. I don't have to work but honestly, I feel like maybe I should. There's not really any reason not to now the kids are at school.

Teaching which I'm hoping to avoid.

Hi @Cherrypi, I'm almost in the same position; my DTs are now at nursery in the mornings and I could do with some extra money!! Undecided between trying to earn some ASAP or looking into (re)training for something more interesting, although £££ would probably be required Sad

I found this www.indeed.co.uk/jobs?q=Secretary&l=Home%20Based&radius=50&from=sug&vjk=e0bdb93222b64360 which is the sort of thing I'd like to do, but we're probably just over an hour from London AND I have no-one to cover for me at home when I have to travel..... DP works shifts and PIL will only do the occasional few hours of childcare, they're getting on a bit now and find the DTs hard work (fair enough!!).

I looked at the Royal Mail Christmas jobs but same problem for me, I'd have no-one to get the DC from school/ collect them and have them for an hour or two till I got home.

Currently looking into home based jobs with flexibility as I'm running out of options!
