You'll be fine, you've been away a long time and your collegues are expecting you to just slot straight back in. Do things your own way, ignore the looks, and just get down to settling back in.

As for swapping personas you are a working Mum, you don't need to change, you just focus differently. Is there any scope to ring to check in on your ds to settle your mind a little?
things will find their own way, good luck, we're thinking of you and we're here if you need to vent.

Don't forget, to them 9 months of normality has passed, for you, your whole life, your perspectives and outlook has changed. You've changed so much and they, well, they've been going to work, coming home, going to work for 9 months!

jetjets - I found the early weeks back at work tough both times, you'd have thought I'd have been better prepared with dd2, but it was the same old rollercoaster all over again - weeping in the loos at work etc! Just be kind to yourself, don't feel bad for feeling wobbly, in my experience it does get better, and now I feel I have the perfect combination - 3 days in work in a job I generally enjoy, and 4 days at home with my gorgeous kids.
