Hi All,

I'm currently working as a debt advisor for a well known company. My daily job is to take calls from clients and help them with debt/bailiffs/budgeting, etc. And work out a plan of action to get them debt free.

The job is rewarding a lot of the time but honestly it is soooo heavy on the heart. The horror stories you hear about bailiffs and the reasons why people are struggling is hard to take in.

You go through extensive training before you take the job but it doesn't prepare you for the hard hitting phone calls you take.

I'm thinking of moving on from this role for my mental health reasons.

I'm struggling to think of what job being a debt advisor could lead me to? What role could I move forward to that would be an improvement?

Any ideas would be appreciated 🤗

I don't really know OP. Anything working with the public, offering advice etc really. Lots of different roles and sectors.

I'm feeling the same way right now. I've had two weeks off work and it's been lovely not to have to speak to people in horrible circumstances. Would love something less emotionally taxing.

@fatted emotionally taxing is the perfect description for this role!
