How much more money would you have to make to go from staff to contract position?

I sent my CV out, not really expecting a reply. And they have asked what my "hourly rate" would be. I am staff now and not really sure how to translate my current salary into a contract figure. Can anyone help?

Mrs Lucy - My dh always complains that the person in charge of the contract doens't have a clue and always changes details adding further work BUT dh has a leaving date and if it overruns, then it is renew or he leaves. So, in some cases (Of course I don't know what you do or the type of contarct that work depicts ) contracts over running shouldn't effect you.

My baby shop closed two years ago so no worries there.
