Interview tomorrow 😳

Can I have some good vibes from you all for tomorrow please? I’ve an interview for a role I really want! I’ve recently come through a protracted consultation exercise at my current work place where I’ve been for 15 years and I was fortunate enough to be offered broadly my own role, but I really want this new job. It’s the next step up and I’ve all the skills and competencies as well as the qualifications. I really got on well with the manager during the phone interview who I would ultimately be taking over from in time. I’ve done loads of prep in terms of company research and prepared a few STAR scenarios. I do tend to babble when I’m nervous though and I’m not great at self promotion, so any tips would be welcome.

Finally, it’s going to be 73 degrees tomorrow, is a smart dress with no tights acceptable ( legs are lightly self tanned) or are trousers better with a nice top and my mac?

I'm sure u will do well if u have prepared. Just take your time answering and if there is water keep taking sips so u can spend that extra second thinking of your answer.

One tip I have is at the end when they say "do u have any questions for us" reply "is there anything that you would like me to expand on or explain further to show I can fulfil the role." or words to that effect. It gives them an extra chance to think over what you have already said and match it to the role. Also sometimes as they don't expect it they are impressed you are willing to go further for the role.

Thanks all, just en route in the train. I’ve read all my notes and I’ve left a couple of hours to have a drink and a final read. Bit nervous.

Ok, hard to say really. I expected a more formatted interview with STAR questions, but it was quite chit chatty. Really can’t call it, I’d say 50/50 . Find out next week. Thanks for asking 😀
