My long term goal is to become a social worker or something very similar. In order to start the process I have registered on a health and social care course with the OU but I am currently unemployed and I need a job and would also like to gain experience in "people" work for later on so I was wondering if anyone had any idea on what I could do now as an unskilled and unqualified person which somehow benefits a future career in social work?

I have just been for an interview which would've seen me working in mental health but didn't get it so am on the look out for something else...

I was considering teaching assistant in secondry schools? this would gain me experience in working with young people..?
