I work freelance in the creative arts, and have seen a couple of projects I would like to apply to lead. Back story: I've been working in this field in more junior roles for ten years, and in the past two years have been taking on projects with more responsibility. I moved countries nearly two years ago, but had my DD three months after we got here, so haven't networked or worked that much (I have secured one regular role but want to develop further and make new connections). I'm now pregnant again, but feeling the itch to get into work, and it will be trickier when no 2 is here. I've seen a few things I would like to go for, all of which finish before my due date (one literally three days before but that is a final deadline for the project to be completely delivered). Would I be daft to apply for them? I look very pregnant although am only 19 weeks (had same with first pregnancy - popped out massively then stayed the same size for ages). My DH has been working his fingers to the bone since we moved - he's also a freelancer in the arts, we struggle with childcare so he would not be working if I was but generally I get paid more for the same amount of work (we don't do the same roles and mine is more specialised), so it makes sense for me to work more. Just wondering if I'm crazy to think I could apply when so obviously visibly pregnant.
