Attendance officer

I have an interview for an attendance officer and unsure if i should attend. Im used to being in challenging situations with young people but with less paperwork and worried i will be in a job where i just get pressure from the academy and the parents and little to no time with the actual children. Can any help with any experience of the job or working along side these roles?

Is this secondary? IME with a primary attendance officer there is very little direct contact with the children, as they can't really be ultimately responsible for their own attendance. It's about engaging the parents.

Not sure about older secondary children, though.

The attendance officers I know (secondary) are admin back office based so don’t have too much interaction with the students. It’s more the Home Liaison officers who work directly with the external EWO etc. But this could just be the area i’m in

Oh and they (the ones I know) have more than one responsibility e.g. SIMs inputting for admissions/covering the medical room/covering reception/first aider/reprographics cover
