Digital Marketing Qualification

Hi everyone
Am wondering if anyone can point out a good diploma/qualification in Digital Marketing? I've identified this as a solid skill to add, and whilst I am savvy, there are some definite gaps in my knowledge and I'm ready to take on the challenge of studying part time. An online course would be ideal as I am a working parent, but I'd like one that is recognised and respected. Any suggestions? Thank in advance. x

Have a look at Digital Mums, they run courses aimed at mums looking to re-train in digital marketing.

See if it suits you as it's a cut throat biz. Google have a free course recognised by IAB and OU. learndigital.withgoogle.com/digitalgarage/course/digital-marketing and there are a lot of other courses out there once you decide it is for you. However, the best way to learn is hands on as it is changing all the time. Start a blog and practise marketing that once you know a few basics. Good luck.

The IDM or CIM are both decent options, but expensive. Some companies request one or the other from applicants to certain digital jobs.

That said, I woke for a digital marketing agency and they wouldn't consider them worth the paper they are printed on! Experience matters far more.

Would you consider doing shorter, specialist courses that might lead to actual experience? The IDM offer those too.

Oh, and follow the experts on twitter etc. It's a huge subject and you may find one area that interests you much more than others, so track down those who are the experts in that particular field.
