Compassionate leave/HR

My MIL passed away a couple of weeks back- my partner didn't take any time off apart from two days he spend with her before she passed away.

His work have put this down as "sick" on his wage slip and haven't paid him for compassionate leave. He hasn't taken any time off apart from two days and the funeral day.

Could someone advise me if he has been paid wrong?

Thank you

There is no legal requirement for bereavement leave.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss, OP.

There is no legal right to bereavement leave so the company don't have to pay him (I'm assuming they don't pay sick leave), sorry.

It depends on their policies and his contract etc

Is he entitled to paid compassionate leave in his contract/relevant policy?

Check what his contract says
