Returning to work after long illness

Not sure this is the right place to post but thought I’d try. Five years ago I was diagnosed with a very serious disease which did its best to kill me. Now fast forward and I feel a lot better, still not 100% but really want to get back to work but to say I am anxious is an understatement. Have other people been through similar? Is there any support available? I am on some benefits do those agencies offer any help? I’m worried I’ll get sick again, that I have forgotten everything I once knew and just being with people as I haven’t seen many apart from health professionals for the last few years!

Sorry to read what you've been through and so pleased you are improving. You dont say what illness you have been through but if it is cancer then macmillan have a great work support team in their phone line who may be able to offer support. Your local job centre may also have disability advisers who can advise on courses to help.you get back into work. Good luck.
