I think I'm going to lose my new job :(

Just started a new job after resigning from my old one (for this job). I've received no induction, no training, nothing. The company is also in serious financial issues, which has resulted in lots of staff leaving.

I'm quite certain it's only a matter of time before they let me go, I have no idea how to do the job and no one has taught me (the people who could have, have quit). I feel stupid for leaving my last job for this. Not sure what I'm asking for, just someone to hold my hand I suppose Sad

Just try to do your best. I don't know what it is to be able to advise you, but is it something you can look up on google & self train a bit?

Start TODAY looking for another job, no one will judge - just say you hadn't realised they were in financial difficulties in interviews as to why you are leaving so soon.

Any scope for putting out feelers for your old job?

Roiiae · 02/07/2019 21:42

Going back to my old job isn't possible. I can self train for some things but I'm in the dark in regards to company etiquette and practices etc Confused

Do they have any policy manuels or policies available on their intranet at all ?

This happened to me, I left a job I'd been on for years for a job that promised me the moon on a stick. Didn't take long to realise they were in the shit and half the workforce were leaving or being pushed. No training and I felt completely unsettled. I was stuck because I had a massive notice period so just had to wait until the inevitable happened before I looked for another job.

The inevitable happened six months after I started and I got made redundant along with a load of others.

If you can look for another job now.

Look for another job now and register for temp/contract work. Also put the feelers out with colleagues at your old company. Get on linked in etc.
