Being singled out due to pregnancy?

Ive worked for my current employer for 5 years and am due to go on mat leave nid october.

We are due to get a new system in November so are running training sessions in september. All other members of staff have been booked onto the courses but i am the only member of staff that hasn't. This is despite my enthusiasm for the new and improved system.

There have been numerous other interactions with my boss that imply he is not best pleased about my pregnancy. For example asking what my opinion on abortion was, the day i came in late due having an early pregnancy scan for bleeding.

Aibu in thinking this is most likely linked to pregnancy and maternity leave? I want to raise the issue but reasonably

I'd seriously consider raising a grievance for the abortion comment alone. Speak to HR.

Well, you are right that you shouldn't miss out on training, but it does seem a bit pointless you going on training for a system which will be implemented while you are away, and which you therefore won't use for more than a year after doing the training. You'd need to do it again anyway, so it makes more sense for you to be trained when you return, surely?

So yes, it is likely that you not doing the training this time round is because of your maternity leave, but assuming that's so, it seems to make sense to me.

Have you asked your manager why you're not going on the training? I would expect that to be the reply.

Flowery, i haven't asked them yet i just wanted a little perspective on it.

The rest of the staff were pulled into a meeting i was excluded from so ive been feeling pretty singled out. I only heard this information by accident as i walked on on two sheepish colleagues.

It wouldn't hurt the company to give me some access to the training material. Plus i feel like I'm being treated a little unfavourably as a whole. That abortion comment is really the tip 🤣😂

I don'y think you should have the training before mat leave as there is no point. You need the training maybe on KIT days before you start back.
