Redundancy and notice

Slightly convoluted

I handed my notice in about 2 weeks ago...a week later the shop was told that it was going to close a week after my notice period was up

Now the redundancy payment will probably only be a few hundred (they are quite cheap so I doubt they would give us more than statutory) so I’m not overly fussed about ‘losing out’

But as i haven’t received confirmation of my final date is it possible to rescind the notice...or if they haven’t processed it for example

Thanks

You can ask if you can retract it but they don’t have to let you.

Worth asking though- it’s a shame for you to lose out by a week, and a sympathetic manager might be willing to adjust your leaving date?

Sympathetic manager is being made redundant as well

She is lovely and would absolutely do it for me

As i say its not a biggie but head office are being dreadful both in the way they told staff...and the fact that they are dragging their feet with my resignation

Im just being bloody minded Grin

I don’t think it’s being bloody minded! If it weren’t for the sake of a couple of weeks you’d be getting redundancy money. I would definitely ask your manager.
