Can taking unpaid / ordinary Parental leave reduce your income for tax purposes?

TIA

Also, can it be refused if you've got loads of annual leave left? (Holiday year ends March 2020 so plenty of time to take it)

Any kind of unpaid leave will reduce your income, for tax and all other purposes.

Parental leave can’t be refused. It can be postponed if there are good business reasons. How much holiday the person has is irrelevant.

As pp said, obviously it will reduce your income as it is unpaid.

Your employer cannot deny you the leave but can postpone to when it suits for business needs.

Perfect. Thanks
