Should I apply?

I have worked for my employer for 16 years now but due to ongoing bullying and discrimination I now feel I need to leave and I'm looking for alternative employment

I have raised a grievance in case anyone is wondering and they are dragging their feet dealing with it so I have been job seeking

Firstly it's been difficult because not many employers want a disabled person though you can't really prove that's why you aren't hearing anything and I don't believe in non disclosure as I'd rather know straight away what the employers attitude is

Another issue is that my qualification and experience is very niche so it's really hard to find something similar. I think even when I try for different jobs and highlight my transferable skills it still puts people off

I have found a job I think I could do well and it's at a charity for my disability so that could be good in terms of a more understanding work place

However it is £2200 less pa than what I currently earn and a part of me had always hoped to move upwards in salary and status/job title

Also the interview, if I got one, is in London and I'm far far north

I did ask some questions

Salary is non negotiable and travel expenses are not paid

DH says not to worry about either as our income would still be okay and he'd take time off work and drive me down. He just wants me to be happy aww

But I worry about the salary and potentially wasting my time going

Skype interview not an option nor is telephone as one of my disabilities is deafness

Do you think I should apply?

And what kind of questions come up in disability charity interviews? This is a children's disability charity

Apply. If you get an interview, it's an opportunity for you to find out if you would want to work there. There’s no decision to make until you have a job offer - and you can decline that, if you thought the job wasn't for you, be it because of salary or culture or hours or any reason.
