Could I refer you to my thread on

Am I being unreasonable to want to come into work 15 minutes later and work 15 minutes later at the end of the day for three weeks.

Please can you offer me some advise on what I should do tomorrow.

hi trix - see my posts on your other thread.
As regards what you should do - you mentioned in a later post that you only want this flexibility for a few days and then you are hoping to find another solution - that's a compromise and is more reasonable.

For what it's worth, I don't think your request in itself is unreasonable, and particularly if you work for a larger employer, again as you mentioned in a later post, I would hope something like that would be accommodated where at all possible, especially for such a short period of time.

I thought Xenia's advice was constructive and worth a go.

It does worry me when people talk about things like this being a 'right' though, and want to go in all guns blazing (not saying that's what you are planning btw!), as approaches like this are what does give working mothers a bad name, get resentment from other employees and make employers likely to want to avoid employing them in the first place, which is exactly what we want to avoid!

I would see if you can meet halfway, and as you say, maybe initially ask for a couple of days flexibility while you get something else sorted.
Best of luck, hope you can work something out.

You wanted people who are in HR, just to let you know I'm an HR consultant btw, work for lots of different employers and also advise/coach individuals.
