CV question regarding quitting after maternity leave

PeggySueOooOo · 30/05/2019 20:41

I have been a SAHP since quitting at the end of my maternity leave. I am currently writing my CV in the aim of finding work again.

My question relates to how I present my previous jobs finish date. Say I gave birth in June 2010 (not real year, just for example) but handed in my notice at the end of maternity in April 2011. Should I put that I worked at that job until April 2011 (or actually May 2011 as I had one months notice period) or is that misleading as I didn't actual work beyond June 2010.

Put the date your employment ended (April 11 in your example).

Defo the date your employment ended rather than when you stopped going in.

Hi PeggySueOooOo,

You may have been on Mat leave, but you were still employed there, so I would put May 2011/equivalent- to take you to the end of your notice period. You don’t need to tell your future Employer that you were on Mat leave.

Hope you find a cracking new job. All the best!

I left my job at the end of mat leave, definitely put the date your employment ended, not when you were last in.

Thank you very much everyone, that is what I had hoped would be correct. Hopefully the rest of the CV will be straightforward.
