I work in finance in a small state school. I’ve some accountancy qualifications but stopped training a few years ago. Am not thinking of restarting where I left off which according to the examining body is fine. However, it’s fairly pricey. I’m just wondering if anyone thinks it’s worth asking my employer to help fund the training? My previous employers have but I am also wary that I’m working in an industry now with massively tight budgets. Has anyone who has worked for a state school and not in teaching position managed to secure any funding at all for work/role related training?
