Part time work

Hello

I have signed a part time contract last year with 20 directed hours and 11 teaching periods within the working hours Monday to Friday. I was on a 2.5 day timetable.

I am flexible on the days but due to other commitments and 3 small children I cannot work much more and certainly I can’t have those 20 hours allocated randomly over 5 days.

Head now expects total flexibility without considering my needs.

What can I do? Do I have legal rights?

I am potentially supposed to work 1 full and 4 half days which I can’t do.

Any suggestions?
