Job application deadline query

Hi, sorry I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find it. If a job application deadline simply states "Deadline for applications is 2nd of June. Would you think that meant - 5pm on the 2nd, 11.59 on the 2nd, or Midnight on the 1st?

Panicking!

End of play 2nd June

Since 2 June is a Sunday, I'd be playing safe and getting the application in by close of play on Friday 31 May! (Sorry)

Thanks both, I actually made up the dates not realising I used a Sunday!! I actually have a couple of deadlines phrased this way, so I should assume close of play on those dates? I guess they can't really refuse me if I get it in on the actual day?

I think you should have the application in no later than close of business on the day stated.

Yes, but don't leave it til the last minute. My brother got caught out like that - they closed the as early because they'd had so many applicants.
