How far back do you go on an application form?

I am filling in application forms for the first time in eight years. Between the ages of 18 and 30 I had a ton of retail jobs, all with similar responsibilities. I am 47 now, with much more relevant experience. Do I have to fill in all the old jobs ? It seems pointless and time consuming. No one really needs to know what I was doing when I was 18 do they?

Don't bother with the older jobs. I would just list the last few that were relevant and leave out the rest. I list my jobs from the last 12 years as all are relevant. Anything before that were similar to yours, all retail that didn't add anything to the CV for the job I was applying for. Good luck with your job hunt!
