What to do with law degrees

I've a law degree, a master's, and 20 yrs experience in legal info/publishing (preceded by 10 yrs in retail/customer-facing roles). Now it seems I'm unemployable! Is there anything I can do with that skill set? All advice gratefully received.

What sort of age are you? 40 ish?

groundcontroltomontydon · 14/05/2019 08:37

Yes I'm late 40s - which definitely doesn't help!

I've got a law degree and went on to study ILEX, and qualified as a legal exec. Still, if you'd wanted to stay in the law, you would have done. I think you probably need to top up your qualifications with something recent. Have you looked at doing a pgce?

There's loads of things you can do as you'll have a lot of transferrable skills.

What is it that you want to do? Do you have a career in mind?

Are you struggling to find something because you're looking for what you used to do rather than a new career?

HR is friendly to mature entrants, well paid, and law would be useful.

Thanks everyone
