Can anyone who works/ volunteers at the CAB spare a minute?

I am looking at a couple of roles advertised in my CAB. I am a SAHM who hasn't worked for a while. The application form asks for 2 references which is putting me off as I have been a SAHM even though I have some very good skills and experience that I think I can bring to this role.

Anyone from CAB around? Do you think this is stumbling block to volunteering here?

This is what it says on it's website but not sure if this just refers to paid work.

"All job offers are subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references: one of these should be your present or most recent employer, the other could be someone who knows you in a work related, voluntary or academic capacity. Both referees should be able to comment on your suitability for the post applied for."

I don't work for the CAB. But why not just call the contact on the job ad and ask who to put as referees? You definitely aren't the first person in your situation to apply for a job.
