Apart from the online generic pack, has anyone found a good online resource. The behaviours ( aka competencies) are familiar territory as i interview others a lot , but the "Strength" based questions are new ground for me. Anecdotally from others it seems that the "Strength" based questions are treated differently.

I know there is knack to answer these to get the required number score- I'm struggling to find good guidance as to what this is though.

All help gratefully received.

The strengths questions are spontaneous. They take a baseline from you and mark your answers against that. Having been on both sides of the table, they’re more like non-CS interview questions and the only ppl I’ve seen balls it up so far have been those who think the panel want to see an extrovert and try to come across as something they’re not.

Only tip - talk for long enough. One words answers won’t cut it!

Thank you this is making more sense now. The link to the other thread is really helpful. I think where I went wrong was that i answered the strength one strongly Grin, didn't realise the other two were strength questions and tried to answer them like competency examples so didn't hit the mark. It is so different if you've never encountered it before.

I am so annoyed with myself.

So they have to tell you if you’re answering a strength or a behavior question.

With behaviors they’ll tell you which behavior they’re testing, they can rephrase the question and there might be follow ups - with strengths questions there won’t.

I've not experienced them flagging the type of question but i was already aware that they can't ask supplementary/ probing questions for the Strengths so if you go off on the wrong track you're stuffed! I'm preppy again so any other top tips welcome.

Hi all. Can anyone fill me in on what questions may be asked regarding behaviour and strength questions? I have an interview next month and the success profiles is just confusing me ? Also what competancy questions might be asked? Any help is greatly appreciated. !
