In short - I've worked for the same company for many years, starting at a 3 day week but now one day. Some years ago I had an issue with not being paid for bank holiday Mondays, but went to ACAS for advice, sorted it out... then my normal working day changed and it was no longer an issue. However last July a former colleague came back to work and to accommodate her family dynamic (she has a young child) and my boss, my working day went back to Monday. I've now found that I haven't been paid for the Easter bank holiday, there are two more bank holiday Mondays coming up, and I'm very upset, stressed and anxious about having to explain all over again to my boss about why she HAS to pay me on bank holiday Mondays. And yes, on top of that I also lose the right to choose 4 of the 5.6 days of paid leave that I'm entitled to, which doesn't help. I've spoken to ACAS and they have told me that not being paid for bank holidays amounts to an unlawful deduction of wages. Any advice or words of support would be very welcome!
