sick leave help

I have been signed off work for a month due to anxiety and panic attacks brought on by bullying and discrimination (have not decided yet whether to raise a more formal grievance).

The return to work date is Monday but I do not feel fit for work so am trying to get another GP appointment to get a sick line extension but it looks like I wont be able to get one until next week, meaning I may be forced to return to work or take unauthorised absence!

Work referred me to an OH therapist who agreed I am not fit for work and that she'd say that in her report. Would this be enough or would I still need a GP Note before Monday?

I am extremely anxious about this! I do not want to return to work to be meet my bullying manager in a 121 situation, especially when there has been no resolution or answer to my informal complaint yet.

Please advise on what I can do. I am in Scotland if that is relevant.

Sorry to read this, hope you are feeling as well as you can be given the situation.

At the company I work at, in this situation I would ask the employee to make me aware on the Friday if they didn't feel well enough for work on the Monday or for the following week. A fit note can be back dated so don't worry about not being able to get an appointment before Monday. Some doctors may issue a fit note over the phone, so that may be an option.
Just communicate with your employers and I am sure they will be completely understanding Smile do not go back to work until you feel well enough to do so, take the time you need to recover.
