What's missing? New business ideas

Everyday I walk past a vacant retail premises on my way to the station and my long commute to my traditional professional job in the city and think I would love to work for myself and open something there.

I live in an affluent area ( commuter belt to London) full of young families, students and commuters

In the locality is a barbers, take way places, convenience store, hairdressers etc. A coffee shop opened a few years ago but didn't survive

It might be that it's not the place to stay and linger and browse as commuters are rushing to work or home
But it's got me thinking...

Any ideas?

The market has moved on from a few years ago, a nice coffee shop which caters to commuters first thing and stay at home parents afterwards is very successful here. The other place doing a roaring trade is the Korean rice bowl place. Queues out of the door from 11-2!

Yep something where people can grab and run.

Ready made sandwiches or baguettes, salad bowls or takeaway coffee

I'm hungry now

A coffee shop / sandwich place with a softplay - use it to attract yummy mummies, childminders, au-pairs, nannies etc for coffee and cake during the day to keep business ticking over after the morning coffee rush and before/after lunchtime madness
