Children’s food business feedback

I’m in the throws of starting either a children’s or family takeaway business from home and i’m after some constructive feedback!

Would you rather buy a single takeaway option for a child or a large family sized portion for you to eat together?

I’m limited to space and will only offer a set amount per evening so i’m trying to figure out what makes more sense.

Also, what price would you pay for an individual child’s portion (primary age) and a family portion, that would serve 4?

Thanks in advance!

What kind of food? I wouldn't pay for take away shepherds pie for example.

We usually just get curry/Chinese and share.

If ordering from pizza place we either share or order kids meal (which is huge and they share it) for £3.50. So £1.75 per child

The food would focus on dishes that your bog standard takeaway wouldn’t serve and inspired by dishes from around the world.

How will you deliver? Deliveroo or just eat? That will determine what you can cook as it has to be transported.

Strathmore, It’s just for our village so I would deliver it locally. It’s only a v small scale operation, at the moment.

Then surely you should be asking for opinions on your local village Facebook page, not here.

Thanks for your support grumiosmum, I already have asked, I’m just interested in further feedback from other mums out there.

I think you'll get a better response if you post on a higher traffic Board, like AIBU or Chat.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what your offer is, but if it's helpful, we would expect to pay about £40 for a takeaway (usually Indian) for a family of 4, & the DC like to choose their own dishes.

We have 3 kids and rarely have a take away. We had a takeaway Indian the day we moved in. If we are feeling really flush we treat ourselves and kids to a shop bought shepherds pie or lasagne. The take away menus I keep (but don't use) are for Turkish or Mexican food.

How can you deliver it and be getting the next order ready?

MonsterKidz · 09/04/2019 05:07

If I’m understanding you correctly, you would be offering more of a food delivery business, like preordered family or individual meals for people to eat at home. Would they heat up or would it be delivered hot?

I would pay something like £10-£12 for a family meal and maybe £3-£4 for a child portion.
