Does anyone know if I leave my contract for nhs and just work on staff bank will I lose any of my bands gateway pay. Currently on top of 5 as staff nurse and can't afford to drop to bottom again. Bank will be for same trust
Thanks

I work for NHS when looked into working bank you go back to point of the bottom pay point so you will loose any progression unfortunately xx

I'm a band 7 in my permanent post but if I want to do any bank work I'd only get paid bottom of band 5 (so obviously they can bugger off).
If you are at the top of band 5 now and then apply for another permanent position at a later date you may be able to go back in at the point you left but most nursing banks will not pay more than flat rate bottom of band 5.
This may vary from trust to trust though so could be worth asking payroll/HR.

It depends on the Trust. Some pay the wage you would get if you were contracted some have a set rate ie mid band. The only way to know is to ask.
