How long does it take to hear if you’ve been shortlisted?

I applied for a job last week and the closing date was Monday and I was just wondering if anyone knows how long it typically takes to hear if you have been shortlisted for interview? They are still advertising the job even though it is past the closing date.

Totally depends on the company/organisation and its size I imagine, so you would need to give more details before anyone could give you any sort of clue, but it would also depend on how many application forms they have to wade through as well as how on the ball HR/management are.

If they are still advertising it has the closing date changed?

Thank you for your reply! It’s quite a small organisation and they haven’t changed anything on the advert, the closing date is still showing as Monday

If the ad didn't say, there's no real way of knowing. Most have come back to me within 2-3 weeks, but I had one come back 9 months after the closing date! Confused

If especially keen in the past, I have routed out hiring managers on LinkedIn and sent them a quick message saying I was really interested in the opportunity, saw they are the hiring manager, and was keen to find out if they knew a rough time scale for hearing back on applications. Depends on the kind of role though!
