Any female telecoms engineers out there?

I am thoroughly sick of my office based job. Office politics and the monotony of my work as a secretary are driving me mad.
I want something completely different and have spotted an ad for trainee engineers. I would absolutely love to learn technical skills and it seems like a good opportunity with room to progress. Has anyone ever changed career from something desk based to a more physical role and what were the challenges you faced?

www.citb.co.uk/about-citb/partnerships-and-initiatives/construction-skills-fund/on-site-training-hub/

Depending on where you are there is funding available for you right now...

Thank you *sackrifice - I clicked on the link but unfortunately applications have now closed. That's a real shame as I would have been very interested. I will keep checking back.
I'm dreading going into work tomorrow :(

No they haven't...click on the area that you are in and see if there is an open hub near you.

Its a current scheme open for the next year.

Qpplications closed for the people to apply to become a hub...not for people who want to retrain.
