Is Wix still inferior to WordPress if SEO is not massively important to you?

I'm a freelancer and am currently trying to get my first website up and running. I hired a company to do this for me but despite good reviews I'm not massively impressed and considering going it alone. The company will make me a WordPress website if I stick with them and if I go it alone I will probably use Wix as I've been playing around with it and getting good results.

So I have a few questions:

Firstly, will I be massively worse off with Wix. SEO isn't massively important to me in my industry as no individual freelancer gets anywhere near the first 5 pages of google. It's all the big companies and agencies. So the site will be more like an online business card to sell my services. Will I miss out on anything else by going with Wix?

Secondly, if I create a Wix site, will it be possible to transfer it to WordPress somewhere down the line without any of the visuals changing? And roughly how much will it cost me to do this?

TIA

Own website is a perfect way to promote yourself and your freelance business over the web.
Concerning your questions about Wix, I'd like to point that you won't massively worse off with it, neither with SEO, nor with your WordPress content.
In general, Wix differs from WordPress only by things that it's a self-hosted platform and your website will be hosted on Wix servers.

Secondly, it wouldn't be a problem to move your website to WordPress back. There are many services offering transfer in automated or semi-automated mode. But I advice you try to do it by your own at first. Just go through the steps of this guide: superbwebsitebuilders.com/how-to-switch-from-wix-to-wordpress/. Depending on your website pages count, it could take 1-5 days to move. And it will be absolutely free for you (except your time costs of course Smile ).
