Recruiters telling employers their employees are job hunting

Is this allowed?

My employer works with all the big recruitment companies in the area. HR always seem to find out when a current employee has sent their CV to recruiters, so the recruiters must be telling them as a 'favour' to impress their client.

Is this legal?

Hi OP

It’s more likely that HR are seeing the employees on job boards such as Reed. Most job seekers will have registered on at least some of the major sites.

But If they are being given the information then that’s a big GDPR breach.

If Indeed is anything to go by then it's not too hard to find out what people are up to.

Apply to companies directly is my motto!
