Substantive role redundant

I am currently on secondment under 31 July but I have been informed that my substantive role has been made redundant. I have been informed my secondment will continue and in July if I do not find another role I will receive my redundancy payment in July salary. Can anyone confirm If i would still receive my redundancy payment if I leave before 31 July as my substantive role has been made redundant in March? Or do I sacrifice this as I’ll be resigning from the secondment?

Until it has been established that there is no alternative role available, you don’t actually know that your employment will terminate due to redundancy, therefore you might not eligible for redundancy pay. You can ask your employer whether they’d release you and still pay you redundancy pay, but at this early stage they could refuse.
