Line Manager

Hi,

I work as a midday assistant and one of the ladies is quite lazy and does hardly anything. I have reported this quite a lot to my line manager and I have been told that I have to tell this lady to do some work. That's all well and good but I don't think it's my place. My line manager has spoken to her once and she keeps telling me that she can't do anything else because she's spoken to her and that I have to stop moaning if I won't tell this lady to buck up. Today she was stood talking, my line manager saw and just shook her head. Perfect opportunity for her to have a word but nothing. What can I do?

Is your line manager one of the SLT at your school? If not, escalate your complaint to them - with the addendum that you now wish to also complain about the way your original complaint was handled!

No she isn't. Today she went an SLT regarding me"moaning" about the other staff member and tomorrow i will be spoken to.

Wouldn't mind but the line manager has seen the actions of this lady and often moans about her too yet nothing gets done. Apparently I have the problem with her so I have to sort it with the SLT and the slacker.

Sounds like you are working with two lazy people.
How frustrating for you. I doubt you will get anywhere with constantly complaining. Try and keep any discussions professional and only related to the job.
Have you asked the other woman to buck up? Not that it is your place.
How about a go slow protest?
