Meeting new US bosses next week

Our firm have been acquired by a firm which has a US parent company. The US heads of the business area I am employed in are coming to our Head office to meet us all next week. We’ve all been asked to provide a one page resume of who we are , what we do.

I believe Americans are much more formal in terms of dress code ( I’m more of a smart but funky high end high street person so I might try for a slightly more conservative style for the day). Any other hints and tips please . I’m a fairly plain speaking northerner but I don’t want to put my foot in it 😊

I have an American boss.

Generally speaking, he doesn't 'get' sarcasm and irony (even though I have managed to train him a bit on that over the years ;)) and takes everything I say literally, so you'll need to be careful about that.

He is very to-the-point and any small talk is a waste of time for him. Asks very intrusive questions without a blink of an eye. (Asked me lots if stuff about my marriage first time I met him).

I am from a culture the British consider 'rude' and even for me he is a bit much sometimes.

A book that helped me a lot was 'When cultures collide'. It has communication patterns described quite well.

Don't know about hierarchy / formality as I am in a tech start up so it's different than bank law (for example).

Generally speaking, they are very good managers (he's my third American boss) and want their employees to succeed. The American dream is true and they do believe hard work will make you get there.

On a resume you were asked to provide I would focus on professional achievements/ success stories. They really believe in selling themselves.
