Childcare ?

Hi guys
I'm getting back to work after 2 years off due to having a baby and loss of my mum.
I have 4 kids aged 7 (twins) 3 and 8 months old.

I was very fortunate in that my mum was a doting granny and my childminder through out the years.

I feel out of touch with how day care works,
My twins go to school until 3pm an my 3 year old doesn't start school until September so she will will attend nursery with her brother who's 8 months old.
My question is ...
How would it work with twins in school ? Do day care pick up from school? It seems over whelming so figured not stress myself and ask you experienced mummy's and daddy's.
I need to see if it's worth going back to work as the childcare will cost a bit. And also how other mums gone kids of that age in day care ? Any advice really thanks guys

Sorry about the loss of your mum. Many childminders will collect from nursery and school. Alternatively you and your DH could adjust your hours so you alternate with early work finishes so you can collect.

Our primary has before and after school clubs although they are both massively over subscribed. There's also after school clubs not associated with the school and they pick up and drop off at school. Child minders drop off and pick up too, they charge around £5 an hour in my area (Yorkshire ). Our before school club is £5 and the after school one is £13 and open till 6. Will your 3 year old be going ft to the nursery? Most school nurseries where I am do either mornings or afternoons (ie the 15 funded hours a week).

In the UK you will find that a registered childminder will collect children from the local school, and they may collect children from a local pre-school. They probably would not collect children from a day nursery as the nursery would often provide the same hours of care as the childminder.

Some schools have breakfast and after-school clubs.

Keep in mind that you may be needing childcare when school is closed, so a before/after school facility may not be that useful unless it provides all day long care on days school is closed.

With four children a nanny (who comes to your home) can be a viable option.

A nanny may well be my best option your right.
My mum was 55 didn't drink or smoke ! So keep on top of THOSE SMEAR TESTS GIRLS 😉
