Governors clerk

Has anyone had any experience being a Clerk to a school governing board?

I've just been appointed to one post and am hoping to get a second one and I haven't a clue where to start with any of it.

Managing the workload, training, invoicing, keeping accounts

Help?

Haven't the school sorted you out any training? Most Local Authorities provide training. Search on the governors' section of their website. Also look at the National Governance Association - there is a lot of info on there.

I'm booked to go on a course but I just wanted to see what else was out there. Thanks for the NGA tip
