A new nanny I am interviewing this afternoon?? I am useless at this and have looked at her references which are glowing and fantastic. She is older (50) and has had a son and done childcare for some years only leaving to look after her elderly parents until they died recently.

Much to my childrens amusement (they do dance) she still does tap dancing! My kids are 5, 8, 9.

she sounds great. give her some scenarios about behaviour etc and see if her strategies tally with your own. a friend of mine hired a childminder years ago when she noticed on her front gate a notice: warning, killer guinea pigs ..nuff said.

more serious things: what to do when raining for a whole week; emergencies; views on punishment/cuddles etc

Print off this
and if she can sing a good rendition, give her the job

glitterfairy · 07/09/2004 12:51

pmsl ff. My kids sing this as you know all the time! I am a little worried that she may be too traditional for our household!!!!

Hurrah I have hired her she was just like Mary Poppins! Even offered to stay weekends if I wanted to go away. Was scarey in her communication skills with my kids and tap danced in the school playground. Oh and her mother trained at the same hospital as me so she must be ok.
